Round 1: Jacksonville Jaguars Select Travon Walker
The 2022 NFL Draft kicked off with the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting defensive end Travon Walker from Georgia with the first overall pick. The Detroit Lions followed suit, drafting Aidan Hutchinson, a defensive end from Michigan, with the second pick.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs had the most picks in this year's draft, with 12 each. Notably, the New York Jets and New York Giants each secured two picks in the Top 10, reflecting their need for reinforcements in several positions.
Round 1 continued with the Philadelphia Eagles selecting defensive tackle Jordan Davis from Georgia at No. 13. The New Orleans Saints followed with wide receiver Chris Olave from Ohio State at No. 11, while the Baltimore Ravens traded up to No. 14 to select safety Kyle Hamilton from Notre Dame.
The NFC South saw significant activity in the first round, with the Atlanta Falcons selecting linebacker Arnold Ebiketie from Penn State at No. 8, and the Carolina Panthers drafting quarterback Matt Corral from Mississippi at No. 9. The Houston Texans rounded out the first round by selecting cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. from LSU with the No. 3 pick.
